Daydreaming

each morning

i see your smile

when i open

my eyes.

wide, white, and beautiful.

and each night

i see the

sparkling love that used

to be in your eyes

when you'd look

at me

as i close mine.

i wrap my arms

around myself

and squeeze

as if they were yours

and the warmth

of your cologne

fills my nose

as i drift

off to sleep.

during the day,

i can't help

but wonder-

do you ever

think of me

too?

miss me as hard

as i miss you?

although i know

the answer

i must believe

we'll be one

again.
