"The Dark Side of Firehouse Culture"
My grandfather was the first Black firefighter and fire captain in Rahway, NJ. He didn't integrate the department in the '50s, or the '60s -- but in 1985. My thesis is a story of love, perseverance and a closer look at the racism within firehouse culture that still runs rampant to this day.

"Young Black voters are becoming more conservative than their parents. Here's why"
Black voters are the most reliable Democratic voting bloc. Young voters overwhelmingly support the party, too. But young Black voters are a wild card as they feel disconnected from politics. For NPR, I wrote a digital story and also created a short radio piece that aired on All Things Considered. The written version of this story was featured in Politico's West Wing Playbook.

The audio version and the written version are both below.

"Water treaty between Mexico and U.S. faces biggest test in 80 years"
The water-sharing systems between Mexico and the U.S. are facing one of the biggest tests in their 80-year history after Mexico has fallen behind on billions of gallons of water deliveries. This digital story that I independently reported on unpacks the water treaty that the U.S. shares with Mexico, the current tensions, and a look ahead for the future.

"Land Back"
This is a 30 minute radio show that I pitched and hosted. The show is comprised of 5 radio segments. I did the research, reporting, and producing of my individual segment. Working on this story was both challenging and rewarding. This radio show received 1st Place for "Best Documentary" at the 2023 College Broadcasters National Student Production Awards.
WNYC
"Local Organization Meets Black New Yorkers Where They Already Are"
I reported and produced this radio story while working as an audio production intern for WNYC. It's a short feature on the Black Emotional And Mental (BEAM) Health Collective and the work they're doing in Brooklyn. This aired on Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

"The Residents Keeping South Berkeley’s Black History Alive"
After creating a mixed media piece for Berkeleyside about a Black history walking tour in South Berkeley, I was brought on The Bay to speak on the reporting I did alongside with Corey Antonio Rose.
