i see your eyes when

you first told me you loved me through the raindrops

on my window. how your beautiful smile fell

when you found out. knowing i let you down.

i don’t know how we got from

building couch forts on the

rainy days to falling through the sky,

no parachute, but my love for you is the

same as the day

we met and you

tripped trying to catch me before i left

value village. sometimes, i wonder, if you still love me.

i miss making up after an

argument- how you’d hold me close. you were an angel

to me, but i’ve lost you, no matter the tears i’ve cried.
